Thankful Thursday 2.12.2015

You have put gladness in my heart,
More than when their grain and new wine abound.
In peace I will both lie down and sleep,
For You alone, O Lord, make me to dwell in safety.

Psalm 4:7,8

These two boys bring so much joy to our home. Their singing, dancing, and youthful exuberance cheers my heart.

I’m thankful for special moments at birthday parties, caught at just the right time.

I’ve been blessed to have fruitful times studying the Word of God and rejoicing in the power of the Gospel and the riches we have in Christ.

Thankful Thursday 1.29.15

And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.
                         Colossians 3:15

It's been awhile since I have shared a Thankful Thursday post. Not from lack of gratitude, but lack of time. I'm hoping to be more diligent about taking time to record the many blessings the Lord gives each week.

We have been very busy settling into our new home, new town, new schedule. Both little boys started homeschool this year. They both love doing worksheets, singing hymns, and anything crafty. It is such a blessing to be home with them, seeing them learn and grow.

I am so thankful that we were able to have 17 new windows installed in December, and the central air extended into the master bedroom a couple of weeks ago. Our home is now snug and warm.

I am so thankful for my wonderful church family, as well as the many that I have online fellowship with. It is such a blessing to share with one another, pray for one another, and encourage one another.

Speaking of online fellowship, I was blessed to have the opportunity to speak with Amy Spreeman of Naomi's Table yesterday. This article was the topic of our discussion, and you can hear the podcast here. If you haven't listened to Naomi's Table (as well as Amy's other program, Stand Up for the Truth) I think you may be blessed by it.  I first met Amy online, and have been blessed to get to know her and her ministry.

As always, I'm thankful for God's grace, which is greater than all my sin.

~God's continued hand of provision.

~Little pajama-clad boys that hug and kiss their play-dough.

~The opportunity to return to glorifying God through music on Sunday mornings. After a few years away it is nice to be back and to have a great team of musicians that love the Lord.

~A gluten-free dairy-free cream of chicken soup that we all can eat and even prefer over the store-bought kind. With hot dish season setting in, it is nice to have food that the whole family can eat.

~A little boy who loves his big-boy bed.

~A twenty-month-old that still takes morning naps.

O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good:
because his mercy endureth for ever.

Thankful Thursday 8.15.13

Two weeks ago one of the boys quite accidentally broke my camera. And I quickly realized that I'm one of those camera-crazy moms that takes about 20 pictures of the kids per day. I was lost without it, and didn't have the funds to replace it. But God provides:

And I'm back to capturing everyday moments:

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.
Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
~Psalm 100

Thankful Thursday 6.27.13

~God's hand of protection during a fierce storm on Friday. We had some tree damage and flooding in the yard, but we are all OK!

~Many in our area were without power for days, but ours was only out briefly. We have a 25.5 cubic foot freezer, so we were able to store my parents food while they were without power. Theirs was out for 6 days!

~God's hand of provision during difficult times.

~Little boys who fill my days with adventure and delight.

Thankful Thursday 6.20.13

~I'm typing this on my almost 4 year old HP Mini that I split a full cup of coffee on three days ago. I thought for sure it was fried, but the next day a saw a light on it, but it wouldn't start. Yesterday it started but was jumbled and shut down after a minute or two. Today it started and stayed running, but the keyboard wouldn't work. I backed everything up, still thinking that it was a loss, only have the keyboard start working again too. There was no way we could afford a new one right now, so this is a huge blessing!

~Last summer I found a beautiful tricycle at Sams Club that I really wanted to get Jojo, but it was out of our budget. This morning we went to a garage sale and they had that very tricycle NEW in the box for only $40. I can't wait for him to see it!

~We were able to visit Gospel of Grace Fellowship again on Sunday, and it was such a blessing to hear my Dad preach. You can hear (or watch) it here.

~My garden is finally growing. It has been a cold and rainy spring, so everything is a little behind.

~Great music like this.

~Our neighbor gave us a slide for the boys. They love it!
